Wire welding is increasingly used in markets where hand riveting has no longer become economical. This production method saves the customer the cost of rivet manufacture as a precious metal wire is attached directly to the strip by resistance welding. The wire can be formed into the customer’s specified final dimensions.
For customers who are converting from bi-metallic rivets the strip can be formed in such a way that the overall contact height remains the same.
Wire welding can be done at speeds of up to 500 parts per minute. |
